I’ve said it before, but I LOVE football. But this season at Katy Taylor High School has been a record-breaking season as the boys and coaches have brought the team to the state quarterfinals this weekend at NRG.

Last weekends game was so exciting! To be on the field with these kids as they took the field for the first time- well it was hard not to cry as I was taking their photos. They were full of energy and hope and excitement. They were on their A game and you could feel it! The season was wrought with it’s ups and downs, the wins and the losses and the injuries and victories. But being on the field with them at NRG made my mama heart so so proud of them. I felt like their adoptive parents eyes as I stalked them all on the field to capture the awe in their eyes being in the home of the NFL Houston Texans.

Then they WON!!! And I was there to get their silliness as they hammed it up on the field for photos afterward feeling like they were on the top of the world.

Y’all I don’t think to have more fun than when I’m on the sidelines capturing these moments for these families. Building relationships and capturing their more formal portraits of them off the field is an honor and makes their victories SO much sweeter.

The Taylor Mustangs are my home school.
