FFA | KATY TEXAS

Recently I had the opportunity to help out some Katy ISD FFA kids who didn't get to show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.  I've been a sponsor of FFA for over 5 years but this was the first time I've been actively involved with the program.

I learned so much about how much these families invest in time and money into these animals and this program.  And they love their animals.  It's a wonderful program and the kids all have a passion for what they are learning.

The Brahman was gorgeous and pregnant which was so cool!  Ty taught me the differences between the cows and why they have their hump and their jowly necks- it helps them stay cool.

We saw the most pigs, and man were they each uniquely different in their personalities.  The one trait they all shared was they were very proud animals.  Each student just loved their pigs, as did their parents.  I learned that they love belly rubs and marshmallows.

wish these students and their families the best in the year to come and I hope to see many more in the years to come through FFA.
